All pumps are not created equal. There are pumps that may not be rated for continuous duty and there are those that are. There are pumps that are energy efficient and there are those that are not. Pumps that are more energy efficient will be more expensive than the pumps that are least energy efficient, however, the energy saved on a monthly basis will pay for that difference in less than a year of operation. There are direct drive style pumps using bearings and there are magnetic driven pumps. Magnetic driven pumps last longer, carry a better warranty, use less energy but are unable to produce the head pressure of a direct driven pump.
